Georgetown Second Saturday Art Attack, April 9

Lots going on in the Original Rainier Brewery this month during the Art Attack! Brand new to the Bottling Plant, Ignite in Suite 236 is hosting artist Gannon Weeks featuring her new Port of Seattle series and burlesque sketches.

Stop by! We are open from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Bio

Gannon Weeks is a Seattle-based artist. She typically paints large-scale figurative pieces in a loose style with a refreshingly raw quality to them. She specializes in gesture portraits that capture the essence of her subjects in a fluid but stylized manner. Gannon does not paint from photographs, rather she has models (or commission clients) pose live on location for the initial charcoal sketch on canvas. She then completes the paintings in her studio. The live session allows those in the scene to experience the painting process thereby evoking in them a deeper connection to the painting. Gannon enjoys sharing this process and wants the people she paints to feel the same sense of pride and ownership that she does with each painting.
